River City alumni Austin Roberts and Ryan Wolstad have been playing baseball together for half their lives, and they are hoping to help Sac State return to the College World Series.

Reggie Williams, '88, named to Running Hall of Fame

River City alumnus Reggie Williams, Class of 1988, has been named to the Running Hall of Fame, the Sacramento Running Association has announced.
 
Reggie Williams was a standout distance runner while attending River City High School in West Sacramento. Williams won the 1987 California Division III State Cross Country Championships and the following spring won both the 1600 meters and 3200 meters at the 1988 California Track & Field Championships and was the 1988 Gatorade Athlete of the Year. Reggie was the Junior national champion in 5000m, and as a prep All-American he led the nation in the 3000 meters and the 5000 meters. He represented the U.S. at the Junior World Championships in 5000m and he represented the West at U.S. Olympic Festival in 800m. Reggie went on to run for UC Berkeley and was Pac-10 All Conference three times.
 
In addition to Williams, the Sacramento Running Association will honor Abe Underwood, Mary Coordt, Shannon Weil, Matt Strangio and local runners at their annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Annual Achievement Awards Banquet at the Holiday Inn Arena at 300 J Street on Saturday, February 16 starting at 6pm. The Sacramento Running Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding new ways to encourage people of all ages and abilities to run. The SRA is committed to developing new, quality running events that appeal to a broad variety of runners. The SRA is perhaps best known for putting on the California International Marathon in Sacramento each year.
