Visual and Performing Arts
MISSION STATEMENT
The Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) department of the Washington Unified School District engages students in self-discovery, creative problem solving, and fosters personal joy for all students in the community of West Sacramento. VAPA instruction enhances critical thinking, perseverance, self-esteem, and appreciation of the arts. Students become leaders and gain a sense of belonging within their arts discipline. The arts are core subjects taught by credentialed specialists. Visual and Performing Arts empower the whole child through transferable skills for a lifetime of success.
