WHAT IS ERWC?
ERWC (Expository Reading and Writing Course) explores the art of exposition as it is used to illustrate, define and understand the world we live in. Through reading, writing, speaking about, and listening to different kinds of expository texts, students will prepare for success beyond high school, both professional and scholastic, and will work to become responsible members of society. Unlike other English classes offered at RCHS, this course does not delve so much into literature, but focuses on both “real world” and academic nonfiction texts. ERWC was compiled by professors from the California State University system and is approved as a 12th grade English class for UC A-G requirements.
