Gerald O'Connor

Students vote for the most important, influential, or prominent people in American history. The nominee must have lived at least for a substantial period of time in the United States (or the territory that would one day be called the United States), accomplished their important contribution while in the United States (or in its service), and be at least 5 years deceased. Students draw for nomination order and formally nominate a person of their choice by persuasive speech advocating for that person's inclusion. Nominees receiving the top 5% of the vote (typically 3 individuals per term) get into the Hall of Fame.
