Cal Grant GPA's are uploaded by the school automatically. Students who do not want their GPA uploaded must fill out an opt out form prior to January 1 of their Junior Year. The Commission offers a Cal Grant GPA Opt-Out Form in both English and Spanish

Each Buck Fellow receives the following:
  • $2,000 - $6,000 in funding to cover educational support such as college and summer enrichment opportunities, college test prep courses, internships, college visits and much more
  • One-on-One mentorship from a Buck Scholar to support academic and personal growth
  • Individualized academic and career guidance to help them apply to college
  • Access to a network of additional mentors: 250+ professionals in fields such as medicine, law, education, technology, and the arts

Any student graduating from high school this spring, who is interested in pursuing a career in the field of human medicine and who has been accepted at an accredited university, is eligible.  Students should read the general information page carefully before sending an application to us, for incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Summer Home Run Internships start 6/14/21 and ends 8/6/21
Paid Internship:  $14.00 per hour
Also receive college credit at SCC if hired

April 12th Online Applications made available
 - Must submit by May 2nd (3 weeks to submit)

Students will be placed in positions inside and outside West Sacramento

How internships will benefit students: Help them with soft skills, gain paid experience, learn the importance of working within a team, how to follow instructions, working with customers, being on time, receive mentoring, coaching, & learn new skills

Requirements/Eligibility

16 yrs by 1st day of work
Taken 2 CTE pathways
 
2 hours per week spent on soft skills

All students who apply must also participate in an interview and provide a resume
Virtual Work Shops Optional: April 14 & 15th after school--to help with application process
