River City High School will again partner with Raley Field and the City of West Sacramento to hold an amazing graduation ceremony on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at 7:00 pm.  Administration and faculty are looking forward to sharing this wonderful milestone event.
As this event is one that should be treasured and remembered for many years to come, River City High School has put the following expectations in place to ensure an enoyable evening:
  • Students must wear formal attire underneath their gown:  dress, skirt, or dress pants and blouse, or dress slacks, dress shirts, tie and dress shoes.
  • All graduates must wear caps and gowns. Caps and gowns are available to be purchased online or at various points during the school year.  Caps and gowns can also be borrowed. If you wish to borrow a gown, please sign up in the AP office with Deanna.  Graduates may decorate their cap but specific guidelines must be followed.  See Mrs. Mabery in the AP office for specifics.
  • Inflatable objects are not permitted in Raley Field and may result in the graduate’s removal from the ceremony.
  • Graduates may bring only their programs/bottled water into the seating area.  It is highly recommended that no purses or bags be brought to the ceremony as there will not be any provision made for storing them or other valuables during the ceremony. The school is not responsible for lost or stolen articles.
  • In addition, graduates will not be able to hold any balloons or flowers, or wear, corsages, flowers, leis, or any other decoration on the gown.  Please save all momentos for after graduation outside of Raley Field.
  • Air horns and other noisemakers will be confiscated at the gate or the party involved in the use will be escorted out of the stadium.  Graduation is not a sporting event.
  • All school, district and state regulations regarding alcohol, tobacco, drugs, and weapons will be enforced in order to ensure the safety of graduates and their guests.
  • All obligations including, but not limited to, detention, bills, fines, etc. must be paid and/or cleared prior to school check-out in order to be eligible to participate in the ceremony.
  • Graduates will not be able to meet with any family member inside the stadium.  Graduates are directed immediately after the conclusion of the ceremony to the right field exit gate.  No one is to remain inside the stadium for any length of time after the ceremony has concluded. There will be plenty of time for pictures and congratulations outside of the Raley Field stadium.
Administration wishes that there were enough seating in Raley Field for every family to bring as many family members as possible to the ceremony; however, due to safety concerns and fire codes, that is not possible.  Every graduate will receive ten (10) to the graduation ceremony after they attend the mandatory graduation practice on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at 3:15 pm in the gym at River City High School.
All guests need a ticket to enter the stadium and to find seating.  SAVING SEATS FOR THE EVENT IS PROHIBITED!  It is best if your entire party arrives at the same time to avoid any confusion or misunderstandings in regards to seating.  There is not a bad seat in the house!  The stage is centered at home plate and the two big jumbo screens televise all stage happenings.
WUSD staff members who wish to attend graduation may obtain 2 tickets for themselves and a guest in the staff-reserved seating.  WUSD staff members must have their ticket and WUSD employee badge to get access to this area.
