Sean J. O'Neil

O'Neil, Sean J. (916) 375-7800 ex.2072 Assistant Principal

About Me

Proud to be starting my first year as Assistant Principal at River City High School, I spent the last 20 years as a teacher for Antioch High School, my alma mater. I was their Theatre Arts Director for 16 years, created and led their Media/Tech Academy from 2012-16, and spent a semester as a Visiting Educator (Educational Technology Coordinator) with Butte County Office of EducationI am a Google for Education Certified Innovator and Trainer, a Microsoft Innovative Educator, one of California's inaugural Leading Edge Certified Online Teachers, and an Adjunct Dramatic Arts professor for Los Medanos College. After receiving my BA in Drama from UC Irvine and MA in Theatre Directing from the Chicago College of Performing Arts, my penchant for technology and communication collided with the creation of ShakespeareCast.com in 2005. Before teaching, I worked as an actor, director, producer, and Arts Education Administrator for the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival. I have lead workshops and trainings on Mobile Devices in Education, Gamification, and Google tools at various conferences across the country. In my spare time I enjoy travelling with my family.

I'm looking forward to this next year as a new Raider!
