RIVER CITY HIGH SCHOOL BULLETIN

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

  • Congratulations to the boys soccer team for a great season and the back to back TCC league championships!
  • No lunch in the F-Commons today
  • River City’s Mock Trial team defeated Highlands High School Wednesday evening to finish the preliminary rounds of the tournament with two wins and two losses.  Raiders Mock Trial Prosecution team faces the defense team from DaVinci Charter of Davis for the Yolo County championship on Saturday, February 24th at 9:00am in Department 10, 3rd floor of the Sacramento County Courthouse downtown Sacramento.  This is the first contested county championship since 2006!
  • The ASVAB Military test is scheduled for today. 
  • The Black Excellence Talent Show is today at 4:00pm in the cafeteria.  Free admission. 
  • The African American Leadership conference is tomorrow at 7:30am in the cafeteria.  Permission slips for the bus are due today.  The program is at full capacity and cannot accommodate students who did not register.
  • Read Across America Day March 2nd.  We will be taking groups on walking fieldtrips to Southport and Stonegate Elementary in honor of Dr. Seuss Day.  Students will miss 1st and 2nd periods on March 2nd and return by first lunch.  If you are interested in attending and reading to students, please get a fieldtrip permission slip from the VP office and turn it in by February 26th.  Your first and second period teachers must sign the permission slip. 
  • Future Farmers of America offers many competitions where you complete against fellow members in our county, section, region, state, and national level.  Some of them include showing animals at the fair and public speaking.
  • Sophomores, your Service Learning hours are due March 14th!  Need help with finding an organization?  Check out the RCHS website, under “students” and then go to “Service Learning.”  Mrs. De La Torre in the Career Center is also a big help!
  • Engineering and Academy girls who are interested to go to the Society of Engineers conference on Sunday, March 18th please talk to Yusufi ASAP.
  • Seal of Biliteracy language test will be held Tuesday, March 20th.  Sign up with Mrs. Mabery.

CLUBS:

  • The West Sacramento Future Farmers of America would like to invite you all to their Spaghetti Feed Fundraiser at Bryte Garden Café on March 1st at 5:30pm.  A Spaghetti dinner is $10 per person and only $5 for ages 12 and under.  We will be also selling cool FFA t-shirts for $15 and chicken eggs.  Hope to see you here!
