A little bit about me...

I LOVE COFFEE. Ask any of my students. I love it.

But on a serious note...

-I am in my 5th year of teaching at River City High School.

-I moved to Sacramento in Fall of 2012 and love it here! I grew up in Santa Cruz and went to school in San Jose at San Jose State University. Being away from the ocean is rough, but I am adjusting to the sweltering summers and freezing winters.

-I teach English and AVID and Building Foundations for Success

-I teach because I had amazing teachers who helped get me to where I am today and I want to be that person for my students.

-I take education very seriously -but I don't take myself too seriously- and I love to have a good time and try to make my classroom as fun as possible. If you walk in, there is an equal chance that students will be quietly working, or that I will be singing to them about whichever topic we are covering that day.

-I try to be as active on campus as I can. This year I will be focusing on helping to develop the AVID program on campus.  I have been given the chance to become the AVID-Coordinator at RCHS and we are working on our goals of raising enrollment, continuing our high standards and creating strong students in all disciplines.

I am always available to chat. Email is best, but feel free to contact me any time if you have questions/comments/concerts/compliments!
