Peer Tutors Needed!

Need Community Service hours? Want to give back to your school community and have a great extracurricular for college applications?

Academic Outreach is looking for Peer Tutors to help students on Wednesdays and/or Thursdays after school from 3:30-5:00pm.

We especially need help with Chemistry, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2. You can do all of your community service hours by acting as a peer tutor, even if you are not able to tutor in these subjects. We always need general help with organization, student check in, grade recording, and attendance. Ask any mentor teacher for more information, or see Ms. Schroeder in G702 to sign up!

Academic Outreach Information

Academic Outreach is an after-school intervention program to help students who are struggling academically (earning a GPA below 2.00) or who are recommended by parents, teachers, or counselors. It is also open to any students who voluntarily wish to attend in order to get help, have a place to do homework, or gain study and organization skills.

If you receive a weekly pass to attend Academic Outreach, you MUST check in with your mentor teacher each and every week.

We hold mandatory tutoring for AO students every Wednesday and Thursday from 3:30-5:00pm. There are late buses to take students home every Mon, Tue, Wed, and Thu. Academic Outreach students are expected to improve their performance in school before they can be excused from the program; students are held accountable for their grades, work completion, character/choices, and future plans.

Please see our Frequently Asked Questions for more information, including how to be excused.
