Students who fail to meet the Senior Contract requirements lose the right to participate in graduation ceremonies. Academics, behavior, and attendance all figure into the agreement. See the Senior Contract for details.
The Senior Trip will take place on May 31, 2019. To be eligible to attend, senior students must meet the following requirements:
Be on track for graduation (on track to completing 220 credits, completed Service Learning requirements
90% attendance average for the school year. 95% on time percentage to all classes all year.
No severe disciplinary incidents including habitual truancy, repeated suspensions or other major violations of school rules.
All debts paid in full to RCHS bookkeeper.
Students who have paid for the Senior Trip, but have lost the privilege to attend the trip as a result of poor behavior or attendance may not be entitled to a refund of the cost of the trip. We will work with individuals who find themselves in this situation.
Students who do not attend the Senior Trip on May 31, 2019 are expected to attend school. Failure to attend school may result in a loss of graduation privileges.
River City High School’s graduation ceremony for the Class of 2019 will take place on June 5, 2019 at 7 pm at Raley Field. Gates open at 5 pm and parking is $5 per vehicle. Please plan accordingly. All attendees will need a ticket to enter Raley Field except for children under the age of three. New this year, Raley Field is requiring all guests to pass through metal detectors in order to enter the park. Please leave anything that would deny you entrance to Raley Field at home.
All graduates (early, mid-term or spring graduates) will receive 10 Graduation Tickets. All graduates will receive the tickets for the ceremony AFTER the graduation rehearsal on June 4, 2019.

1. Graduates may decorate the TOP of their cap only.
2. Decorations may not contain crude or offensive language, gestures, pictures or illustrations.
3.Cap decorations are not to be disruptive or take focus away from the solemnity of the graduation ceremony.
4. Electric or battery operated lights or sounds are not allowed as part of cap decorations.
5. Decorations need to be able to withstand outdoor sun,wind and temperature.
6. Cap decorations will be reviewed by administration during check-in at Raley Field. Inappropriate decorations will have to be removed from the cap or the cap may not be worn. Replacement caps will not be available at Raley Field.
High school graduation is a momentous occasion that marks both the end of students' preparatory education and the beginning of each graduating student's path toward their own future. The ceremony is an event that families and students will remember for many years to come. We encourage students to look their best and dress the part for this occasion; to honor their own and their classmates' accomplishments and to present themselves to their families and community as young adults prepared to take on the next chapters of their lives.
Guidelines for Dress and Grooming at River City High School Graduation:
All graduates will wear and cap and gown during the ceremony. Caps and gowns may be purchased or borrowed from the high school. See the menu bar in the upper left of this page for more information.
Caps may be tastefully and appropriately decorated according to directions posted on this site and given to students.
Suggested dress for men: dress slacks, collared shirt and tie, dress shoes.
Suggested dress for women: dress, skirt or dress pants and blouse, dress shoes.
High heels are not recommended as graduates will be walking on grass, dirt and concrete and up and down stairs.
If you have questions about the dress and grooming guidelines for graduation or would like assistance obtaining appropriate attire, please see your students' counselor or vice principal.
2. Make sure you are keeping your tardies and absences to less than 10% per the Senior Contract.
3. Order cap and gown from Jostens.com OR see Deanna in the VP Office to borrow one. Caps and gowns will be distributed on June 4, 2019.
4. Submit your per-school, kindergarten or 1st grade photo for the senior slideshow to firstname.lastname@example.org. This slideshow will play at graduation.
5. Turn in Grad Walk permission slips to AP office by May 31, 2019.
Monday, June 3, 2019 – Senior Breakfast, 9:30-12 noon in the gym. Your checkout form is your ticket in the door.
Monday, June 3, 2019 – Senior Sunset, 6-8 pm at Raider Stadium.
Tuesday, June 4, 2019 – Cap & Gown Distribution, 8:30-10:30 am in the gym.
Tuesday, June 4, 2019 – Senior Graduation Walk, 10:00 am-12:30 pm. Return to your elementary school in your cap & gown to see former teachers and inspire future RCHS graduates. Permission slips must be turned in by May 31, 2019. Students are not allowed to drive themselves.
Tuesday, June 4, 2019 – Graduation Practice, 2:15 pm Graduation practice is MANDATORY. Each graduating senior who attends graduation practice will receive 10 tickets for the ceremony on June 5, 2019 at 7 pm. After graduation practice unclaimed tickets will be divided between students who need additional tickets. The number of unclaimed tickets varies year to year and we cannot guarantee additional tickets.

Raley Field Parking policy has changed. Parking at Raley Field will be $5 per vehicle. Please plan accordingly.
All Raley Field guests attending the Class of 2019 Graduation Ceremony will be required to pass through metal detectors at the entrance to the park. Please leave items at home that would cause you to be denied entry to our event.
